Prompt from Finding Clarity Mid Week Flash Fiction.

“Quick, quick – they’ll be here soon.”

It’s ok mum. The room is clean. Food is ready. The chairs are out. It’s all ok.

“Are you sure. Have we done everything?”

Yes mum. It’s all ready. Everything is done.

“I feel like we’re missing something.”

Calm down. You’re nervous. We’ve been planning for ages. We prepared. Now it’s all ready. Relax . You can’t keep running round like this. You’ve done everything. You need to enjoy yourself.

“It’s your celebration. I want you to enjoy yourself.”

Don’t worry mum. I will. Stop fretting. Sit down now. Relax. I will definitely enjoy myself. I want you to enjoy it too. It’s your celebration as much as it is mine.

“hmmmmmmmmmm. ok” (she sits down)

(Sound of doorbell).

“They’re here. Let them in”

Mum… ummmm…….. I think we’ve forgotten something….

“What!!!! What have we forgotten. I knew it. I knew we’d forget somthing. What have we forgotten?”

Bubbles. We don’t have any bubbles.
